A Dated House Transformed Into an Idyllic Swedish Country Home

Are you ready to kick off the week in the Swedish countryside? This lovely farm just outside Karlskrona and her family dates back to 1880 - and Maria and her family have been renovating it with all the care and attention it deserves. From the hand-built kitchen, to wood panel walls, and pretty wallpaper, it's been transformed into a beautiful home full of beautiful old pieces and soft, earthy tones. Here are the before and after pictures:

Beautiful transformation - it's truly become a lovely, cosy home. 

I love all of these rooms - but my favourite is probably the kitchen, isn't it lovely?

A Swedish City Apartment with a Little Sunroom

Hej vänner! Ready for a new week?   Looking at the picture above, you'd be forgiven for thinking that this is a classic Swedish summer cottage in the depths of the countryside. But, after featuring not one  but two country homes last week - I promised you something different. And this beauty is in the heart of Södermalm in Stockholm!  Cosy and blessed with the high ceilings we have become so accustomed to with these Swedish homes, the apartment has the best of both worlds - access to the city, with a little outdoor oasis.  Stockholm is known for being compact and property is hard to come by without paying a premium. As result, you'll often find studio apartments. This 49 square metre (527 square foot) living space, however, is blessed with a separate sitting room, kitchen and bedroom - albeit a snug one! Escape to a Cosy Swedish Summer Cottage in the Heart of the Countryside

We’re up at our little cabin now, enjoying a slower pace – long lunches, a bike ride to tennis, then a swim. It’s the kind of holiday I look forward to all year. Sweden is at its summer best: lush forests, wildflowers everywhere, warm days with a gentle breeze, and beach picnics with friends – plus a bit of chaos too when it comes to grocery runs and washing dishes! But even that has its charm. Yesterday at the local supermarket, a whole family walked in wearing dressing gowns – just back from a swim! That’s Swedish summer for you – easy-going, blissfully relaxed, and delightfully unbothered. If you’re tempted to try it yourself, there are plenty of beautiful cottages on Airbnb that offer just that feeling. One I love is this cosy red stuga in Gränby , near the lovely town of Vadstena.
